About Sebastian
I believe that positivity and patience fuel creativity, embracing the tension between love
and curiosity for what I haven't learned. Honesty and kindness have been my guiding principles
through most of my adult life. And as preachy as it sounds, they've helped me successfully
combat obsessive perfectionism.
My professional path began in electrical engineering, building hardware and software for high-speed implosion-measurement controllers. I learned to understand the diligence required when dealing with Motorola assembly code, carefully digging through every cycle to maximize efficiency.
Learning on my own time inevitably exposed me to great, not-so-great, and amazing websites. Making heavy use of "view source" and O’Reilly books got me hooked on understanding how the web worked. I'd read as much as I could about PHP, AJAX, and building sites in Notepad. After moving to Berlin I earned my bachelor’s in Applied Media Sciences (Graphic Design). Working for a few small agencies inspired me to eventually move into full‑time web dev.
Outside of work, I enjoy making music, taking photos with cameras I restored, painting, woodworking, bouldering, tabletop RPG's, hyper-focusing on seemingly mundane topics, teaching my cat tricks, and trying to make a tiramisu that isn't terrible.
